Get Off or Take a Bus in Pusan

And so we departed from Suncheon on Friday at 10pm on a bus bound for Pusan, a second choice because there were no buses to Daegu.
We arrived safely and wandered around until we came across the Dream Motel. The nicest man gave us a room for 30,000won and although we were in search of all out trashy, tacky madness, this hip room with the cleanest bathroom, jacuzzi and "larny" decor was perfect.
Pusan is a wonderful city, the second largest in South Korea. Although we did not get to see much, we spent the evening drinking at Beer Sky, an eighth floor Utopia for any beer lover. As beer snacks go, you never know what it is you receive at a bar in Korea. We were served these brown sticks with sugar and salt sprinkled on them. Fascinated my the almost glass breaking feeling that happened when you put them in your mouth we snacked on them until we were able to find out what they were, cooked spaghetti. it seems, they take raw spaghetti and put it in to an oven where they cook it until it is a golden brown, a great snack!
Part of being on this trip is to immerse ourselves in Korean culture and not turn down any experience. Because my biggest setback here has been the Korean food, Gavin on the other hand will eat just about anything. On my suggestion we ducked in to a small Korean restaurant where they served Mackali (rice wine) and Korean Omelets, an egg and flour mixture served with spring onions and apparently squid inside. It was here that Gavin experienced his first silk warm claiming it tasted like coconut. To say the least, I will not be dining on Korean Omelets or Silk Worms any time soon. Eager to being the first full day of our road trip we headed back to our Dream Motel.
Next stop....Danyang
